Jamestown is a public school like any other. And trust me, most of them can’t afford 40K per kid for 13 years, and if they could without cutting back, they would in a heartbeat.

I don't disagree. When I wrote that I was just thinking that the area around Jamestown is where OP was looking, that's all.

I’m a JES parent. There are definitely the country club contingent (although I’m friends with some of them), but there are a lot of “regular” parents. It is true there is zero diversity which is a minus in my book. However we love the administration, and two of my kids have IEPs and we have been very happy with the support and dedication from the special Ed team. If you really like the house, the only real downside is lack of diversity.

I actually find Discovery parents the snootiest. Jamestown parents are more “old money” and classy/understated. Make no mistake- these kids are all white and very privileged but most parents are very dedicated to raising good people. The true snooty, WGCC crowd goes private. We just moved from the Discovery district to Jamestown and have been pleasantly surprised at how much more we like our neighbors. 🤗

Agree. The parents we’ve dealt with have not been snooty. And to be honest, there’s always a few like that no matter what the school.

Boundaries are not likely to be changed for Jamestown because of where it sits in the county's boundaries. Last time there was a boundary process parents wrote in comments (that was shared the community) about how their PTA/parents were willing to pay for extra buses if needed to keep their boundaries the same. Good school, not diverse, very wealthy (spring break in europe, not road trip to grandmas)

True and since most can afford private in the area, a lot leave before middle school. Many this year left too.

It’s a very strong school, but if you mean by inclusive is there a lot of diversity, no. It’s a rich white school due to the demographics of the zone.

We are looking at a house that is zone for Jamestown. I know that boundaries can change in the future. If you have a child at JES, how has their experience been? How is the reading/writing/literacy instruction? Math? Is the community inclusive? Thanks in advance.
