+1 also a GS-13 with what I can guarantee is a WAY less stressful job. Really ridiculous to imply it is at all too much for someone in an administrator position over a huge school system to be making. It's in fact really pretty low considering compensation in this area in a variety of fields with lower stakes and less stress.
+2 There's a weirdly misogynistic undertone to this view that education is more vocation than job, and accordingly that people should be willing to do for free or at least at a deep discount. It's a profession and a demanding one, and deserves to be treated as such.
Wake me up when people are outraged that the highest paid "educator" in each state is a football coach and maybe after that's fixed I'll listen to complaints about administration salaries.
