Pretty sure all principals make over 100k. I don’t have a problem with it, honestly. If you want to attract good candidates for the job, you need to pay good salaries.
Also, if you’re only complaining about this because schools are mostly closed because of COVID, please just go away. Your sour grapes attitude isn’t going to change their pay scale.

+2 There's a weirdly misogynistic undertone to this view that education is more vocation than job, and accordingly that people should be willing to do for free or at least at a deep discount. It's a profession and a demanding one, and deserves to be treated as such.

Wake me up when people are outraged that the highest paid "educator" in each state is a football coach and maybe after that's fixed I'll listen to complaints about administration salaries.

I think the question is the number of these positions, not the salary in isolation.

This is not a high salary for someone w both a BA and an Masters for this area. Not sure what your point is.

Cost of living here is what it is. It is worth it to attract quality people. Not saying all the people we have now are quality, but I don't think the pay is excessive. When I was PTA president our principal worked 24/7 and had so much responsibility, I was stunned.

What's the problem? There are DC teachers making over $100K.

I understand over 1,000 Baltimore PS administrators are getting over $100,000 each per year. Seems astronomical, doesn't it? Especially when you consider it's one of the lowest performing school systems in the country. Maybe their pay should some how reflect their students' progress?

So about how many DCPS administrators are collecting over $100,000 per year?
