Not in Virginia. Vets are in the second part of group 1b, which at least fairfax county hasn't expanded to include yet.

We see two different vets in Virginia who've both been vaccinated as part of 1b.

Agree, although I am sympathetic to the vets and appreciate that they worked through this whole period. But we had to have a conversation about end of life choices with our vet while sitting outside on a crowded patio, and then put her down in a corner of the parking garage where only 1 person was allowed to be with her. I know it's nothing compared to humans who died alone in hospitals, but at this point people are doing regular doctor appointments, etc so seems like vets could do some in person appointments.

Our vet calls us afterward.

Dr. Perl came into the house to look at my dog last month. I only call him for urgent matters though since my dog is terrified of getting into the car and he’s too big to lift.. If it’s something like an annual exam I prefer going to my regular vet as they do a more thorough job.

I hope I never have to go into the vet again. I LOVE not having to deal with all the dogs and cats in the waiting room.

yup, that's how they are doing it.

Questions outside and on the phone.

For your first appt, the vet will likely call you on speaker when s/he starts the exam and walk you through it. You can ask any questions then.

Not at that hospital, but I had to take my bird to an avian vet, and the vet was on the phone with me to answer all my questions, while the bird was in the exam room and I was in the parking lot. It was great.

Our has been doing the same thing the whole time. They call you while you’re in the car. Our vet even sent me a video of something that was really helpful

We are first time dog owners so were hoping to get a lot of Qs answered at our dog’s first vet appointment. I just found out that the appointments are drop off only. Do you get to ask questions outside? How does this work? (We’re going to Friendship Animal hospital) Thanks.
