As of our last council update (3/4) they are still moving ahead. Northam is expected to give the go ahead to summer camps in VA. There will only be four girls in a glen, where there would have been 7 pre-Covid. I’ve taken my own troop camping and have no concerns about that. You will need to sign the Covid health form so out of state travel will be limited two weeks prior. They did add DE & PA to the “approved” state list.

There is a parent webinar on 3/29.
You can find it under the parent information section here:

They did post an update today on one of the camp Facebook groups about testing or quarantining after out-of-area travel any time in the two weeks before you attend camp.

So it seems like they’re still working in earnest toward making it happen.

The camps are currently open for troop camping and they are planning for a smaller but open summer.

Not to hijack but was any thought given to having the kids bring their own tents? That seems more covid-friendly than cabins.

I grew up bringing tents to GS camp, but that was out west where admittedly it didn't rain much.

They do have fewer sessions and lower capacity in the cabins, so most spots are already filled.

Hoping they’ll be able to go ahead as planned, even if it’s not the same as past years.

I assume so, I think registration already happened. I don't know if capacity is limited because of covid.

Any thoughts on if GS camps will go forward this summer? My daughter was sad to miss it last summer.
