Guerlain is so heavily fragranced. Which in liner probably isn't an issue but the rest of the stuff is STRONG smelling

I’m the first guerlain poster above. I agree with this. I was wheedled into buying the meteorite pearls once, which really do look lovely in a matte, soft way, which is very out of trend but pretty. They did smell strong though. Good but strong.

The kohl liner (I’ve tried all 3 versions) does not smell though.

I know you don't want liquid but Stila's is very good, stays the entire day and comes off easily with Neutrogena Eye makeup remover. (fellow Indian)

I’m Indian too , liquid cat eye on upper lid and Urban decay waterline for lower; in summer I switch to Rimmel Ocean.

I like marc jacobs "highlinder" which is a gel eyeliner. It is amazing, it does not move. I also like ulta's gel liners, which are cheap. I do get some transfer with the ulta brand, but usually it is barely noticeable.

Another for Laura Mercier but I use pencil.

I have gone back and forth between the Stila and Kat Von D liquid liners for years and thought they were great...but they smudge a lot and don't come off easily, IMO.

On a whim, I bought Maybeline Tattoo Studio liquid liner and was so surprised...it stays on without smudging, but it always comes off easily. It's less than $10.

Bobbi Brown gel with an angled brush and Stila Stay All Day liquid

Trish Mcevoy gel eyeliner (specifically in aubergine color, I have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes)

+1 UD 24/7 and I agree the Sephora ones are pretty good at a budget price point.

Usually you would wet the brush a little before using the cake eyeliner. Instead of wetting with water, I wet with MAC eyeliner mixing medium. It is a clear watery-gel. This is me, too! I almost never wear it and have never had good results with a pencil. But I love that Laura Mercier cake-style with a little angled brush.

I very much like the retractable sephora brand liners. The Loreal infallible water proof REALLY don't move, which is great- I find them best for sweaty summer concerts where I can just wear a swipe of light shadow on my lids and a thin (sometimes bright) and short wing and mascara and it looks fun but doesn't end up all over your face.

Still though- I think the Urban Decay 24/7 liners are almost impossible to beat. Its a very 2005 answer and I always like looking at dupes for cheaper but they really have been consistently the best every time I want something new. I like liner a lot so I have maybe 14 or so in total at any given time.. I find its a nice way to add a little subtle smoke or color at the base of my lashes without having to do a full on eye look. I have black lashes though, which helps.

If you wait until the UD ones are on their Bogo sale or 50% off, they end up being the same price as Loreal anyway.

I don't want a liquid liner, I want black but not too black, but I want a liner that stays. I'd like a good pencil liner. I already use Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner occasionally and love it, but obviously can't use it on my waterline.
