Also, basketball needs height. The NBA has the highest percentage of players with at least 1 parent who was a pro or D1 athlete in any sport.

Agree that basketball is the hardest. It’s true that tons of kids around the country play soccer, which makes landing a D1 spot and scholarship very competitive. But it’s easier to do it from some areas of the country (like the DMV) with a long history of sending players to college teams.

Is it soccer because so many kids play it in high school or is it one of the niche sports where they give out less scholarships per team?
