Honestly, the rideshare drivers are the biggest risk. There’s been multiple times where they’ve slammed on the brakes without warning to pickup or dropoff a passenger where I’ve nearly crashed my Vespa in the back of their car. They will go from 30mph to a dead stop in less than 75 feet. It’s very difficult to stop a Vespa that quickly at that speed and maintain control.
Back in 2011 - before ridesharing really proliferated - DC was much easier to ride my Vespa. It’s so much more dangerous these days.
