Kierra at Floyd’s 99 Barbershop in Alexandria is awesome. She cuts women’s hair and the cut is under $50

OP here. I'm a woman. I don't think they cut women's hair there.

I went to their Yelp page and there is at least one review there by a woman.

I've always had good experiences at Bang Salon when I just need something really simple and don't want to pay a ton. They have stylists at different levels and if you really just need a trim, you could request one of the less experienced stylists and probably get out of there for $60 with tip included.

If you go to Hair Cuttery and opt to not have it blown dry, it is cheaper.

I go to PR Partners and my cut is around $50.

I've gone to Hair Cuttery or SuperCuts -- they are fine for a simple trim. And pretty quick, which I appreciate!

Hair Cuttery

A barber shop with female staff will do a basic trim. Our barber shop does (way out in the burbs).

If you are willing to go to NOMA, The Salon Professional Academy is a training salon. Cheap, but might be slower than a typical trim b/c a student is doing the cut.

There are independents working out of shared space at Symmetry Salon Studios in Bethesda. Lower overhead means lower prices.

I know that the Aveda school has closed. It looks like the Pail Mitchell schools might still be open.

Cheap? Now that the hair school has closed (sob! I miss you $11 haircuts!), you can't.

Not expensive? Your best bet is Bang Salon or Bubbles. They're both chains, and have several in the city. I think my haircut is $70. I haven't found anything cheaper.

I'm getting my hair colored by a stylist that doesn't cut hair. I only need a simple trim and don't want to pay the high prices for those that will cut hair at the same salon. Where can I go to get just a cheap haircut in DC prior to my color appointment? Preference for Dupont/Logan/Shaw area.
