I always use those pickup snacks for something that I consider to be healthy enough! Bananas, apple slices with pb or cheese, even a roll of turkey.

My oldest is well beyond preschool and he was SO excited the other day that I'd brought him a banana when I picked him up at the metro....

Can you have a simple dinner ready to go for when he gets home?

Give him hand sanitizer or a wet wipe. I spray my daughter's hands when I pick her up.

How long is the drive? I would give a cheese stick or granola bar. I don't like my kids eating in the car though, and at that young, I was still worried about choking.

Banana or apple? Blueberries ? Freeze dried fruit? Cheese stick? Drinkable yogurt?

My kid always needed something after a long day. Goldfish, grapes, crackers, handful of popcorn. My car was always a mess.

When i pick up my three year old from a long day of preschool ~5pm, i’ve gotten in the habit of giving him a costco fruit pouch (basically applesauce) to tide him over till dinner ~6pm.

He’s pretty sick of pouches plus i know theyre not the healthiest (but they are so convenient and no need to sanitize hands).

Any alternatives that work well for your kids for the car ride home from preschool/daycare? Or, is this pre-dinner snack a bad habit that we should drop entirely?
