yeah - if your kid is not on top of things, it is easy to miss deadlines for housing, class selections, etc. (the consequences are your kid will get class selection/housing with kids off the waitlist in May)

Most importantly, the tuition bill will be emailed to the student.

It is probably a gmail account, at least that was how mine was last year in a grad program. Your kid can forward it to another account, but can also load several gmail accounts on an iphone, which also allows you to see email from all accounts or by separate accounts.

? Not understanding this question? The student needs to activate their college email account and then check that email account regularly for important communications from the college.

My son's school had a link to the "to do" list. After paying deposit (and informing other schools), first thing to do was to set up student account/email. Once that's done, he could access the housing info and complete the housing contract. Usually important to do that ASAP to get an earlier slot for choosing housing.

Then, your student MUST, MUST, MUST regularly check the student email account. Look for...

Registration for orientation
Admitted student events
Notification about choosing housing assignments (different schools handle this differently)

There was also info about computer requirements for different majors so we looked at that, not in a rush to get the computer but it was enough to confirm that his current laptop didn't meet the requirements.

Have you filed out the FAFSA and submitted? Even if you don't think you will qualify for student loans, your daughter will still be able to obtain the $5500 loan (may have increased) every year at a very good rate. The amount increases all four year.

And they need to let the other schools know they're not going to be enrolling.
