To steal a phrase... BUILD THE WALL! There needs to be a permanent security perimeter in place around the Capitol complex. To suggest otherwise is dangerous folly. If you examine many other civilized countries in the world, their governments take great measures to secure themselves against outside threats. And we have a giant outside threat living right here amongst us - the 47 million people in this country who voted for trump. Until they are dealt with to ensure they can no longer be a threat, we have to safeguard our temple of democracy. And that means a wall. A big, giant wall, protected by the military. That is the only thing that can keep these people out.

Nobody is talking about "Fort Pelosi" except people whose beliefs about recent events are similar to the insurrectionists'.

Do you even watch local TV here in DC? All the local stations have been doing news stories every week on the impact of “Fort Pelosi” on the people who live and work on and around Capitol Hill.

Lack of coverage? It’s being covered all over.

Hello Everyone! My name is Katy Ronkin, and I am an intern at the US Capitol Historical Society and a junior at GW. USCHS is collecting oral histories from people in the Capitol Hill neighborhood about their experiences on January 6th. If you do not live in that neighborhood, I would still love to hear from you! While many organizations have focused on the experiences of elected officials, law enforcement, and those inside the building, there has been a lack of coverage on the effects of the attack on the Capitol Hill community. We hope you will join us in collecting those stories! We plan to post these recordings to our website and potentially feature them in blog posts or social media.
If you are interested, please email me at katyronkin @gwu.edu. These interviews will take place over Zoom. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you!
