I have the 2018 X1 and love it! So easy to drive, perfect for me. But I also love the way BMWs drive, more than MB.
Also, the Lexus GX460 has a super smooth ride.

If the Forrester is too big (they've gotten a lot bulkier in recent years) check out the Crosstrek or Outback. I personally don't like the look of the Crosstrek, but I wouldn't hesitate to drive one. Subarus are great.
