Societal expectations.

It’s totally irrational.

If anything, if we expect women with boobs to wear bras, men with man boobs should wear them too.

I’m a 31EEE, large breasts on a very small frame. No choice but to wear a bra, mostly for comfort. It hurts to be active without any support - I also run and am very active.

I look completely different braless and would be unable to wear most all of my tops without a bra - wouldn’t be able to button my blouses, for instance.

You do you...If you can see nipples and breasts, you’re too close. Step back, look up and move on. Really, it’s on you to focus elsewhere. It’s not hard.

The more you don’t wear a bra, the saggier they get. Get a breast reduction if you don’t want to wear a bra

There are comfortable non-underwire bras out there. I am not even large chested, I just like feeling secure and supported. But you do you.

Doesn't it hurt if you're walking quickly or jogging? This is why I wear a underwire bra or sports bra when leaving the house (D cup).

Yikes mostly because no one wants to know how terrible big books look. Everyone wants to believe they don't point to your belly button.

I prefer a bra but my best friend does not. To each his own.

I do not understand why some people are offended by nipples, but many are. I wear a tshirt bra and you can see my nipples and I don’t care.

The US is freaky about boobs.

I’m a 38DD. I am physically more comfortable in a bra. I even sleep in one sometimes.

For large chested women, the unsupported mass affects physical carriage. And I think it adds to the back strain that they already experience. There is a reason why breast reduction surgery is popular amongst the well-endowed women.

Generally, there is an aversion to public jiggles of the flesh.
If this culture wore kaftans and other loose robing there would be no need to upholster our bodies.

A few weeks ago I ran behind a woman who was also running in the park. Her shorts were a bit too tight and high. Let's just say she wasn't young and firm, especially in the area behind the thigh. She couldn't see the jello-like dimpled wiggling of her flesh back there, but every single cyclist that passed from behind by looked long and hard at her rearside. They weren't looks of admiration. Just like me when I first encountered her, it was a look of 'horror-but-I-can't-look-away-because-I'm-not-sure-it's-as-bad-as-I-think-oops-no-it-actually-might-be-worse.'

Because no one wants to see saggy breasts flopping around.

Have to? No. Will you look better with one? Yes. If you are over 30 and/or have have children, droopy breasts are not a good look.

This doesn’t mean you have to wear an underwire. Get an unlined, wireless bra. You will get the lift without the discomfort, as long as you don’t mind a little nipple show through if you are cold. If you do, there are lined options without wire, they just aren’t my personal cup of tea.
