I would take the smaller one as .5 isn't that huge of a difference to me. That being said, I'm 5'10 with hands to match, I have some serious jewelry, and I'm a size queen.

Can you give us stats on the 2ct? CCC

OP here. I don’t know. Small hands. Petite frame at 5’1 110lbs.

Depends. I don’t need ideal cut or D or E color, but I wouldn’t want H or I color either. Too yellow. I also don’t need flawless, but no SI either. There is a happy medium.

My ring is very high quality, just under 1.5 carats and I’m a medium sized woman (5’7, 135lbs), and it fits me perfectly. I wouldn’t have wanted something bigger, especially in my mid-20s when we got engaged and married. I’m late 30s now and still think my ring is perfect.

Really wouldn't care. I'd have loved whatever DH gave me.

How big are your fingers? If you have doughy hands, you'll probably want a bigger stone.

I’d rather have a 1.5 ct better quality stone. I think 2 ct is just too big unless you are going for “wealthy old lady” look

Quality over size, definitely. Also 1.5 isn't exactly small.

OP here. Then don’t post. This thread is not for you. I don’t want to hear from women like you. I want to hear from women who care about rings.

And please no “ I want less expensive or smaller”. I don’t need a ring stuff.

The other thread got me thinking. Would you rate have a high quality ( ideal cut, high grade color and clarity, and no fluorescence) that is 1.5 carats, or a still good quality but not as great 2 carat? Would you sacrifice better quality over size?
