This is rude. No need to say this. It sounds like you’re jealous. You must had a bad sleeper.

I knew one kid who slept this much. He was kind of a dud. Didn’t do much, not a high energy kid. I’m pretty sure he’s in the spectrum now.

What’s the split between day and night sleep?

OP here. He sleeps 11 hours a night and 5 hours of daytime sleep, but sometimes will sleep 12 hours at night and longer naps. Usually he will have 4 naps with two longer ( 2- 3 hours) and others ( 30-60 minutes). He eats well ( 32oz a day) and is hitting all of his milestones. Very vocal, rolling over, can hold his head up at tummy time, grasping and holding toys, trying to pull himself up to sit, etc.,. He’s always in a good mood and alert when awake. I just assumed he loves his sleep. We have never sleep trained but we did put him on a bedtime routine and taught him how to self-soothe when he was a little younger.

Enjoy it while it lasts and take a nap instead of talking to a jealous exhausted friend!

Your baby is fine. Your friend is probably jealous.

On good days, my now-16-month-old did the almost the same at that age. 3-3.5 hours total for naps and 13h at night. You're blessed. Don't sweat it - enjoy it now because one day he will drop naps.

I had two fantastic sleepers. No issues. They were fat and happy and didn’t need to lay awake crying all day. Just thank your luck and move on.

Talk to your doctor.

Why do people feel inclined to share stories like that? A simple ask your pediatrician would suffice.
OP, In some cases a lack of sleep could indicate an issue. It goes both ways. Call your pediatrician; you going to get some horror stories here.

It's a discussion thread on an anonymous forum. I think stories like this are very appropriate. If it doesn't apply to you or you don't find it useful just keep scrolling

Is your friend a pediatrician? If not, thank her for her concern, bring it up at your next well baby check, and listen to what your doctor thinks.

You’re going in for regular check-ups with your baby, yes? Ask at the appointment. This is nothing I would be worried about, but if you want to feel better, ask the ped at the next appointment.

This is nothing to go get “checked out.”
