OP here responding for the first time. And no, nobody has ever been attracted to my status. But I also don’t look very wealthy, I wear jeans, flannels or t-shirts, and no make-up. So it wouldn’t come up I’m fairly wealthy unless someone knew me well. When I mention a ski trip, prep school or something else they can figure it out. But I don’t normally talk about that stuff.

Maybe the men you have dated really don’t care about your financial background. As you self-profess, you do not really talk about it though aside from occasionally mentioning some subtle “cues” you consider telling. Because you don’t really share this about yourself though, neither verbally or demonstrated in the way you dress/manicure yourself, I don’t really think your pulse on a male response to your financial background is particularly telling. Or certainly not compared to someone who does demonstrate their wealth more, and more openly shares this background. Just 2 cents to consider.

That being said I think it plays in. To what degree varies on both individuals priorities, personalities, and relationship dynamic. I do not think it matters quite as much for females as for males though.

Do you only hang out with people wealthier than you? Do you go to significant lengths to hide your wealth? If so, then maybe no one cares.
But when people with less money than you know, of course it's a factor. Look at Doris Duke, Princess Beatrice, 1/3 of the women in the NYT wedding announcements, Vicki on RHOC and the weirdo grifters she attracts. It ain't their looks.

You don’t need to be in the 1% to grow up with ski trips and prep school. It’s common enough in the UMC.
