Every time I see a story about the local DC gov's incompetence, I'm always surprised that people are surprised at how messed up it is. It's been a shitshow from day 1; that's the whole MO.

This is why I oppose statehood. Really. I know if the * ever really hits the fan, the Feds will eventually step in. I'm waiting for them to ask DC why we are last in the land inoculating residents for example, and then just take over. Behind Texas even , according to the NY Times tracker today

Every time I see a story about the local DC gov's incompetence, I'm always surprised that people are surprised at how messed up it is. It's been a shitshow from day 1; that's the whole MO.

Probably why DC shifted to Microsoft to improve the process. $500K later, the system works. How pathetically awful.

Questions were raised last year when DC Govt could not pivot to more online resident services. Have you tried using any DC Govt portals or web pages. Just go to MPD's site. There is no modern or logical organization. All of the ANC's have their own websites because OCTO cannot generate a standard website that is robust enough for local neighborhood needs.

OCTO email is awful as well. All of your email is machine read and then blocked if it has anything deemed offensive, even if you are forwarding a complaint which you find offensive to an agency which is supposed to handle said offense.
