My eyebrows are still a bit darker that my hair which I like and my hair isn’t a weird fake black (PP mentioned shoe polish which would be awful!).

PP, would you share what brand/shade of color you use? I am of a similar coloring and badly need to cover my grays which have increased exponentially over the past year.

I use Madison Reed’s permanent hair color in Parma Black (2.5NNN). I have used to Root Reboot in Piatto but my grays are way too stubborn for a semi-permanent color. I do recommend using their seal booster with the color if you go this route to keep the grays from turning copper. Overall, I am pretty happy with the color.

I use Garnier Nutrisse Black Tea. My natural hair color is a soft black color, and I think it looks realistic on me. I’m AA, so I’m not sure how flattering this color would be on a non-AA person.

Yes. Black hair dye makes it look like shoe polish. Never use black.

OP. Thank you PPs. Now if I could get suggestions for the least chemical laden ones. I have chronic health issues and am trying to go somewhat natural.

+1 except I do the opposite. I lighten all of my hair and the grays are not very obvious. My hair is naturally the deepest darkest black so the lightening helps lift my look overall

Use the darkest brown shade. Don’t buy black, it’s not the same black as natural hair color.
