Pickup games just for kids would be fine too.

Find a good Latino bar showing soccer games on tv and ask there. Plenty in Arlington.

At this age group my DS coordinates his own pickup games. He has a couple of kids on this team that are more friends than teammates and they meetup at the field to play. They might bring other friends along. I sometimes bring some puggs or they play world cup on the big nets. When they were younger I could get into the action but now they smoke me..lol

Ha! He definitely has friends on his team, but only gets together with two of them, one of whom lives fairly far.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. He will be playing the spring season, but was hoping to find some additional opportunities for him to play (without his current coach who, while nice in some ways, is a really intense guy).

Why don't the players get together without the coach?

Bad fall season for various reasons, and people are stressed and unhappy. I just think it would be better for him to find another option for additional play, though I am sure that he would be happy to spend more time with his lteammates, all of whom are nice, I don't want to involve myself further with their crazy parents.

Spring Season has technically started with preseason tournaments and leagues kicking off shortly. I expect most clubs are back into all-out training mode now. If things are better this summer perhaps pickup sessions might start up again. I know alot of the meetup groups (even just for adults) have a hard time getting enough players to attend.

Clubs are not sponsoring pick up sessions right now for obvious reasons.

Golden Boot soccer also has a street soccer session once a week. It's definitely more reliable than getting together with a group of random people and not knowing what to expect.
