Sounds normal. The larger dealers (Koons, Ourisman, etc.) have a relationship with DC DMV and can get tags en masse. A small lot uses a tag runner and needs to get in line with the rest of us plebs for a DMV appointment on the website.

I purchased a car in Virginia, paid for tax tag and title of course. I live in DC and still have not received my tags. The dealer-a small town company says the delay is with DC due to Covid but my neighbor got her car in October and received her tags in January. I've bugged the dealer plenty of times for a status check and to continuously get another set of 30 day tags but this seems outrageous and I'm not sure what to do.

Any advice?
