Subject: Would you let your fully-vaccinated parent come over for dinner?
My vaccinated parents are coming over for the night tonight. I am also vaccinated and my DH has gotten his first shot. We have one 8 yo. We are going to stay masked the whole time, and when we eat, we will stay 6 feet apart.

Yup. Had my vaccinated mom overnight last week. PCR chasing in vaccinated/previously infected population needs to stop. Your mom is in the clear.

Yes I would. But my fully vaccinated mother will help take care of my kids here and there even after they start back to school in person.

Of course. The most at risk person has been vaccinated.

For me it would depend on who else she sees, the other activites she participates in, etc. My MIL lives alone and is masked when she participates in any activities. She spends limited time in stores (does not like delivery). She is vaccinated and the only person we see unmasked. We know its still a risk but one we are willing to take.

Yes. Studies show vaccinated people don’t transmit the illness. Getting the vaccine means life returns to normal.

Well, that's a completely different situation.

No. I am continuing to meet up outside and masked for now, as the CDC and Fauci recommends for mixed groups (some vaccinated, some not).

Yes. We just spent a week with my vaccinated parents. I know it's not zero risk but it was a risk worth taking.

Absolutely. I have been seeing my parents the whole time though; we bubbled together and nobody works out of the house or goes to school in person.

I probably will allow it soon. My parents are set to get their second shots in about 2 weeks.

My mom is fully vaccinated. She got her second dose almost 4 weeks ago. My husband and I don't have any special risks. We're in our early 40s. We have two elementary-aged kids without extenuating health conditions. I would love to have her over for dinner. What do you think? It seems like all of the developing news points to a pretty low risk of transmission by somebody who is fully vaccinated. Mom is being very careful--doesn't go to the store, doesn't see anybody indoors, goes for walks with friends (always masked).
