Smaller clubs send their top teams to EDP if they want more challenge than NCSL. EDP still allows clubs to enter single teams, so it’s a good solution

I see that by U11 the divisions use numbers ... again, not sure if the divisions are 1, 2, 3 ... in decreasing order of difficulty or not.

Since the U9, U10 and fall U11 teams are so new and competitive levels less certain, those divisions are set based on geography more than anticipated competitive level. Once you get to U11 spring, they switch to division numbers that do indicate levels of competition.

Oh, ok - thanks for the info. That's disappointing, as I was hoping that the parity would be better in the spring than it was in the fall.

They will try to make the parity better in spring.
They collect the score from fall but dont post them just use them for spring and future structures.

Agreed that they will make some adjustments for parity, but not to the extent they do in the upper age groups. I wouldn't try to divine meaning from the letters used and/or whether your kid's team moved to a different division. Sometimes when they move one team for parity, they move another team they think would fit in either group for balance.

Promotions/relegations for our division seem appropriate. The team that came in first in the division blew everyone out of the water by so much that it seems like the right call to move them up two divisions. The second and third place teams (who I think finished a point apart and significantly ahead of the fourth place team) both moved up, and the bottom two (both of which had really rough seasons -- I felt for those kids) moved down a division.

The schedules are not out yet but the division structures are. You are looking in the wrong place.

Thanks

Yep, all the age groups look very healthy in terms of # of divisions, teams per division and the variety of clubs, all of which will allow pro/rel to work effectively creating a competitive environment for each team, especially at the older age groups. Good for NCSL and the participating clubs.

My DD’s two teams (she plays up a year besides her own team) won their division last fall so she’s pretty excited for the spring and compete against better opponents. For the most part NCSL does a decent job with pro/Rel and this benefits the clubs and the league overall health
