Subject: DC asking feds to help vaccinate dc residents - would it work?
What medical units? My department has part-time nurses' offices in the building. If we need help vaccinating, then we should call up the National Guard. Have them stand up some mass vax sites and start administering vaccines.
The feds are trying to get their own employees vaccinated, but are dealing with the same supply issues as everyone else. My department is trying to get vaccines through HHS, and will administer them to the people on its priority list.

If anything, I could see the Feds start vaccinating Fed employees, which would indirectly reduce the pressure on DC vaccine supply.

DC isn't going to get special treatment and the optics of the feds vaccinating Deloris, the 30 HR specialist at agriculture while millions wait in line is terrible. It won't happen

They would hire someone to come in and provide them just like hundreds (thousands?) of employers across the nation have.

With approval of JnJ plus the resources some fed agencies have with freezers, does it make sense to have their medical units help vaccinate DC residents (contractors and civil servants to ensure a more equitable mix of people). This reduced demand on the government, agencies are organized and know who works for them and where people live according to w2s, and it helps get people back in offices, supporting downtown lunch businesses. Then less people have to use the terrible dc website.
