It took me 3 kids to figure this out, but Ubbi is actually worth it.

I used a metal step simple human trash can and that did not work. I switched to the plastic diaper champ and it works great.

Yep! Once my kids started solids at 6 months, those poop diapers went out immediately. Breastmilk poop diapers didn't smell much. I was kind of lax about changing the bag too and would go a full week without taking it out. Didn't smell too bad.

I did buy the fancier Febreeze scented bags for my Ubbi, but that's it.

Oh and mine is 6 years old and is on kid 3, so I feel like I've gotten my use out of it.

We did the same but with a regular old garbage bag. You know what was really stinky? The actual diaper pails we used with our older kid. If you’re going to spend $50 to store old diapers, at least buy a decent trashcan you can keep using three years from now.

I’ve scrubbed my ubbi out with bleach in my shower. It doesn’t smell.

The secret is to bag up each diaper, or empty a small pail every day.

My Ubbi smells so bad! Even with baking soda at the bottom and sitting out in the sun, it still reaks every time its open.

Have two ubbis. Worked well for the first year. Now it stinks. Maybe we should empty more often idk.

I like ubbi. Zero odor. Use regular trash bags. I kept it long after diapers were done it’s great for women’s bathroom trash too. Diaper genie was a waste of money.

About to have our third and I've blocked out the whole diaper/poop first 2 years of their life.

Do stainless steel diaper pails actually work? Ie, they don't smell? I know it won't be much of an issue until we introduce solids, but wondering if I should try one this time around (for what it's worth, I am not a fan of the diaper geni, as I think they still stink).
