And that’s largely why cases in children have skyrocketed.

And most urban school systems are doing the same thing we are.

Miami-Dade and NYC. Very urban. Very open for long time. Very not like us.

Open with rolling quarantines and infections and, in the case of Miami, a horrific lack of contact tracing and tons of mutated viruses.

I don't really understand why you think it's more conducive to learning to have classes open and close and have kids disrupted from any standard routine.

Monday and Tuesday would have been closed even with no hybrid.

NYC is not open widespread: some lower schools have opened. At one point 183 in one day closed. Secondary isn’t back at all.

Tuesday isn’t asynchronous, it’s a student holiday for professional development which VDOE mandates districts provide and teachers do. It was there whether we had been fully in person, fully DL or hybrid.

I would just like to thank all the idiots who clamored for a half-baked in-person school during a worldwide pandemic, especially that very special man who had a complete meltdown in front of the Board, for yet another five-day weekend for my kids just so teachers could be forced prematurely back into the building to have the privilege of standing in front of a computer and maybe 2-3 students in the classroom. Today, Monday and Tuesday are all asynchronous days now. You are all so ridiculous.
