Can anyone help make sense of this? I'm 44, soon to be 45. Prior history of infertility but got pregnant by surprise after stopping ART at 40. I was told by my RE at 42 when trying for #2 that IVF was basically going to be equivalent to IUI or timed conception (in other words, my chances were almost zero of ever getting pregnant again). So we didn't pursue treatments at that time, and gave up trying for #2. Total surprise pregnancy at 43, ended in blighted ovum. So apparently I could get pregnant again, so started TTC again with timed conception. Pregnant again 5 months later, ended in another miscarriage. After that, I basically stopped trying and started to try to avoid ovulation as to not have another miscarriage. Anyway, that's the backstory- lately my cycles have been so wonky (I guess due to my age and the miscarriages) that's its been hard to keep track. In January I kept testing and testing and never saw a positive OPK and instead my period came when I thought I should be ovulating! So this past month I wasn't sure when to test, but did about 2 weeks after my 2 day period and got a positive OPK. And strangely 3 days after peak felt EWCM. Around this time I had a physical with my internist and mentioned this and he ordered bloodwork to see what was going on. I should have been in the luteal phase, just post-ovulation, but my progesterone was .3 (in range of either ovulation or follicular phase, but def not luteal). That seemed low to him so he ordered more bloodwork a few days later, at which point I should have been about to start my period, but my LH came back as menopausal (50), and my progesterone was elevated as well (12). By the time I got the results, I was a few days late. My dr suggested starting progesterone, which I have done with each pregnancy, and a couple of times where my period was late (but just ended up being late). And of course progesterone delays your period. My PCP wasn't sure what to make of the lab values, and I don't have the insurance benefits or money to see the RE again. I got a BFN two days ago, which would be three weeks after ovulation. So is the progesterone just delaying my period then, because at 3 weeks post ovulation wouldn't a pregnancy test have been positive by now? I'm just so confused and scared of another miscarriage. I dont' want to stop the progesterone in case I am pregnant and it's not showing up but also I feel like it's probably just delaying my period, I don't feel pregnant at all. Or maybe I'm in peri menopause? Any advice?
