A lot of it depends on how much of an ass your ex is. I split when my son was 10mo, and we started with one overnight/week (ex didn’t want more than that cause we were both in law school and he had to study - I had to study with baby around of course).

Then we moved to 4 overnights every 2 weeks (every Thursday night plus every other weekend).

I nursed until my son was a toddler, but he did fine with a bottle at dads.

When we broke up, our youngest was still nursing. At first, my ex would just come over and spend time with her in between nursings. I'd shower, nap, clean up, etc. Then I'd leave for an hour, up to two. He might stay four hours, and I'd nurse once. Then he started taking her out for an hour, maybe two. I started pumping so he could take her out longer, and by then she'd gotten used to him holding her enough that she'd take a bottle of pumped milk.

Then he'd leave her with me and take the older kids out/overnight. He didn't take her overnight until she was 3.5.

And yes, the schedule changes as children age and their lives change (all day at home, to most of the day at school, to wanting to spend time on extra curriculars or friends after school, etc.

I separated when DD was 6 months old. We did a modified schedule of two nights with dad, three with mom and split the weekend. However, DD was formula fed so you may need to pump to make something work.

OP here. BF 9 month old.

Define infant. A breastfeeding baby before 6 months is different than a 9 month-old. I have experience but it would help me if I knew what your specific concerns are.

Why are you asking?

If you’re co-parenting with an infant, what does your schedule look like? How do you plan to handle holidays? And will you revisit the schedule as the child ages? If so, at what time?
