He is NMF in a large public HS.
I attended a HS with a strong music program so know several people who have done the dual degree with music. If this is Northwestern (since you said too 15), I know two individuals who did Northwestern with a music and STEM degree. One is now a music director at a public school and the other went with his chemistry degree instead.
In terms of what to do, a simple thank you. Congrats!

I wanted to get a counselor to guild his college application process but he refused it. As an immigrant and no musician we know very little about colleges and nothing about music school.
He really likes the professor so we would do something to enhance his application.
+1. He’s too late to apply this year and not a large school, but Oberlin has a number of dual degree students and does great at having an integrated Con and A&S campus. For example, Con kids and A&S are often assigned to room together, many A&S kids attend to use the Con for music theory, music studies and instrument lessons. And they are focusing on bridging the Con/ A& S gap academically with business for music majors, music and cognition, music technology degrees.

Congratulations, OP! It's probably too late for this since it sounds like your DC already applied, but the University of Rochester is a very good school with one of the top conservatories in the country (Eastman School of Music). There are a number of Eastman students who double major and end up with a degree from Eastman and one from Rochester.
On the off chance your plans don't work out this year, they do take transfers.
Or consider Eastman for graduate work.
