Yes mine were horribly painful the first trimester. Slowly got better in second trimester. Currently at 27 weeks and they haven’t hurt for probably about a month now, except for some days they feel more swollen. Supposedly it resumes in the third trimester though. I got these gel pads on Amazon that heat up to help with major nipple sensitivity.

Op here- thank you ladies. I expected it to be a symptom but boy did I not expect it to be this bad! I was walking around target today and the cart handles pushing against them was brutal!!! I’m pretty much living in bralettes.

Yes, it can be very normal. Just so you have the range of experiences, for me it did not get better throughout pregnancy.

Things changed once I started BF'ing. They were worse with DD since she had latch issues and then I got a case of thrush that would not go away. They were better with DS, since he nursed well. In both cases, though, that sensitivity from just hormones or whatever that I had in pregnancy went away.

Right there with you, OP. Also at 6 weeks. I have huge boobs, and it is so so painful when I have to pick up my toddler. Last time I went through this I had to start wearing a sleep bra at night. I think I’m there now.
It gets better in the 2nd trimester. Fingers crossed.

Mine only lasted a couple weeks with my first two pregnancies! Hopefully it gets better soon. I’m 9 weeks with my third and had zero breast soreness.

i'm 16 weeks and at least once a day my nipples feel like they are being attacked by razors. it's actually pain radiating from the boob itself, though. it's bad enough that i sometimes start moaning from pain, though it does usually pass within 30 minutes so i'm guessing there is no infection-- just that my boobs keep growing.

The good news is I had sore boobs my first pregnancy (briefly in the first trimester) but didn’t have that problem my next five pregnancies.

Yes. It should get better after 12/14 weeks when the placenta is built and your hormones are a little steadier. If then gets really bad the first weeks when you breastfeed and are engorged right after milk comes in.

Well, mine were just "sensitive", but yes - I knew I was pregnant because of that symptom before even peeing on a stick

I think it got better in the second trimester. However, if you breastfeed it’s going to get a lot worse after the baby is born. I remember my boobs feeling like super sensitive bags of rock in the early days. (Sorry)

Yes it’s normal and yes it gets better...I think around the second trimester? I can’t remember exactly with my first two pregnancies but now in my third I’m about to start my third trimester and just my nipples are sensitive at this point.

I’m not even trying to sound dramatic but my boobs hurt SO BAD. I’m only 6 weeks and this started about a week ago but they are getting worse. Even brushing my arms against them hurts so badly. My husband jokingly squeezed one and I almost murdered him. Is this normal for them to hurt THIS bad?? Does it get any better?!
