We have had parties in the past and I did not give favors to anyone who did not attend.

I think I am overthinking this because we put a lot of things in this favor. I put an activity and treats since we didn’t have a real party.

Don't over think it. You didn't know she was bringing a gift. If you did, or happened to have had a favor on hand, yes is would have been nice to give it. But you didn't, the moment has passed, it's not a big deal.

This. I don't give favors to people who didn't attend the party, but if someone dropped off a gift for my kid and I had an extra favor, sure.

The last party I did, I gave away the books that inspired our party theme (Redwall series).

I had a very small outdoor party and a friend couldn’t make it. The friend gave me a birthday gift for my child.

Should I have given her a favor?

I didn’t expect her to give me a gift. I have given gifts to my good friends’ kids. I usually don’t give gifts to classmates if we can’t make a party.

I normally wouldn’t think anything of it but the favor basically was the whole party for us since it is Covid.
