It sounds like she doesn’t have those numbers yet. My OB never offered to do AFC so she’ll probably need an RE consult for that.

Aren’t those the two that matter? Did you get pregnant early three years ago? Seems odd that your fertility would just fall off a cliff.

Yup. We got pregnant in month 2 of trying with my son. It’s part of why I feel so blindsided by these test results.

I was not a good candidate for ivf and wasn't going to waste money trying with my stats, but insurance covered iui and I ended up pregnant via medicated iui on my first try! I know I was *incredibly* lucky but based on your other stats (did your conceive #1 easily?) you're not yet in panic territory.

Similar numbers at age 37. Did natural cycle IVF with dominion with icsi and assisted hatching and it works first try.l

OP, if you want to feel like you’re doing something now, download a copy of It Starts with the Egg and start reading about positive steps you can take to improve egg quality.

Can I ask why? Kaiser only does their referrals to Shady Grove. But, I am a federal employee so I know my plan only covers IUIs anyway. But, if I’m at the point where I would need to go straight to IVF anyway, I’m not sure if I have the option to go elsewhere since it’s all going to be out of pocket either way.

There are also supplements you can take to reduce your FSH (wheatgrass etc) though I am not sure they make much difference in your egg retrieval numbers. Most likely you will see reduces response to stims, but that’s not a death knell. What were your other numbers, like AFC, AMH? And this was done in CD 2-3 of your period yes?

Yes, this was day 3 testing. My other numbers:
Estradiol: 40.8
LH: 10.0
TSH 1.02

Those numbers look fine to me. To gauge potential IVF response, you really need your AFC and AMH as well. Wait until you can get those and talk to an experienced RE before making a decision. I’m pretty sure there are also certain REs who are particularly experienced with DOR (if you end up with that diagnosis) so you can ask for referrals for those docs as well (here or elsewhere).

No, I have Kaiser so this is just the initial testing phase. And since it’s a weekend I didn’t get any analysis or anything from my doctor. Just the straight lab results posted to my account.

I’m pretty sure the answer is “very” but was hoping for some insight. I’m 36, turning 37 at the end of the month. We have 1 son who just turned 2. We’ve been trying for 6 months and just got my doctor to order testing. I just got my day 3 lab work back and my FSH is 14.4. All of my quick googling suggests that I’m effed and possibly not even going to be a candidate to try IVF but I just wanted to hear from others.
