This, plus I wonder if those biographies touch in how emotionally stunted and miserable most of those people are/were?

Try looking into language immersion programs for school if that’s important to you.

I’m sure they were, but that’s not because of their tutors. It’s because they had terrible parents who didn’t know how to “parent”, and therapy wasn’t invented yet.

And because of the tutors, who frequently hit their charges when they answered wrong.

OP, I recognize myself in you, which is why I say this; get help. Your daughter doesn’t need to speak French fluently at age four. She needs a mom who is not clinically anxious.

Yes, you should definitely be looking for a nanny to the royals or your child will be behind.

Are you a royal? If so, maybe you’re not doing enough. If not, you’re fine.

My kids spoke 3 language at 3 because we speak two langurs are home and they learned English at school. They are not geniuses, they are not particularly intelligent, etc. I am sure speaking these languages will be an advantage at some point, but if I were you I would not focus so much on teaching her things at 3. More important in my opinion is to make her curious about things. Asks her questions about the book, the game, whatever...

You have got to be a troll. Good luck teaching your toddler Latin, Greek, and Aramaic.

It’s more like... I want to make sure I’m not failing to provide her opportunities, to take full advantage of her innate talent. If she doesn’t have aptitude, fine, no problem. But if she does and I overlooked it and therefore failed to foster it, then I would feel bad

She’s Only three. She doesn’t have any innate talent yet. If she can wipe herself properly and doesn’t pick her nose, she’s winning at life. At her age she should learn through playing. No workbook shit. Play hard, in various ways, read her lots of books. That’s it.

Neither, work with your current nanny. Get some very basic workbooks and give them to nanny and ask her to do a few pages a day.

Is that enough? I’ve been reading some biographies recently of European royals who were trained by tutors and spoke three languages fluently at a young age. DD has a great nanny but not super intellectual. They mostly do pretend play, some reading, run around, and chat. We do plenty of reading as well, as well as games and household tasks. I would like DD to be intellectual as well, not just chatter all the time. Should I get more of an “academic” nanny, or will school take care of it? Thanks
