My cousin had a husky that howled all night in a hotel when they were traveling and they had to take turns sleeping with him in the car. He’s fine at home, so I assume it’s anxiety.

The dog is lonely and might have separation anxiety. I had a malamute that would howl pitifully whenever I left the house but he would calm down after a few minutes. You should let the owner know.

I’d leave a note for the owner. The dog obviously needs daycare or at minimum, a dog Walker to come mid day...

Electronic bark collar. I have a northern breed too, and he barked and howled when we left the house, so this is what we did, to great effect.

A couple of times wearing it and he stopped. The human needs to test it out on themselves first, at a very low level, to make sure they won't hurt their dog.

Poor dog needs daycare or training or both - talk to the owner, then contact building management during every instance so there is a record of the disturbance.

Definitely talk to or leave a note for the neighbor. He may not know and how awful for the dog as well as for you.

We live in a apartment building and the neighbor who moved in next door has a Husky looking dog that howls endlessly for hours and hours whenever the owner is gone. It's absolutely relentless. It's so loud you can hear it all the way down the hall, so you can imagine what it is like in our apartment.

Is there anything that can be done about this? The owner might not even know about it since I suspect it does this when alone, but it seems like really anti-social behavior for a dog that lives in an apartment setting. I'm pretty tolerant about animal behavior, but 9 hours of this and I am ready to lose my mind.
