Does the humming change in tone based on the engine speed or vehicle speed, or is it constant.
If it changes with engine speed/vehicle speed, try shifting to a different gear while the hum is going on to see if it goes away or stays.

My first thought is either a loose alternator belt, or something in the transmission, as those are the components that are more active during acceleration than while maintaining a higher speed. I don't know how to confirm, though....

Kia Sedona has started making a humming-type noise whenever I accelerate in the 20-40mph range. I tried to deny it at first. Chalked it up to the wind from the roof rack. It's definitely noticable. It does not hum when idling. It does not hum when braking. It does not hum at lower speeds (like driving through a neighborhood). It only hums when, for example, I accelerate from a stand-still to 20+mph at something like a traffic light or accelerating when entering the interstate, etc. The hum goes away once I reach/maintain speed. The hum seems to be coming from the front passenger side.
No electric problems. The lights, radio, steering, are all fine.
Thoughts?
