I always had nannies, but this seems unworkable as a practical matter. I would think about trying to find one of the following: a small in-home daycare that will provide very high touch care for your baby, but in their space (for the amount you would have to pay for the nanny you might be able to even get a special agreement on how many other babies with your caregiver); a nanny share that is hosted by the other family at least until September (again if you agree to pay extra you may be able to work this out); a nanny who lives nearby and you feel comfortable with who could do at least some of the sitting at her home/apartment; at least one if not both of the grownups rent an office space and work there while the nanny has the apartment (or at least work in the bedroom while nanny has living room/kitchen/bathroom.

I can't say no fast enough or loud enough. Especially in the winter. Especially during a pandemic. The nanny can't go anywhere.

You or your husband need to take off work for half a year.

+1. You’ll find someone. But this plan is going to result in 3 unhappy adults and one unhappy baby.

If cost is not an issue, break your lease and move.

Wait, the nanny and baby plus the two of you WFH are all going to be in the living room of your 1BR ALL DAY together? That sounds horrible. Why not just do daycare or find a nannyshare?

Yes. It will be close to impossible and very hard to focus for you or the baby. The baby will see you and not understand why you are not paying attention to them.

DH and I will be wfh once my maternity leave ends in a few weeks. We live in a small 1br apartment- the bedroom is tiny and only fits a crib and our bed (no space for walking). Would a nanny work with this arrangement? It would involve all 3 adults plus baby in the living room almost all day. Cost is not an issue and we are willing to pay, but it’s not an ideal living situation. We are moving when our lease comes up in Sept but will need a nanny before that. We are not considering daycare.
