Is OP asking if FCPS should provide information regarding how to unenroll? If so, that information is easy to find.

The comment about some parents having no experience in education makes me think OP is asking if they should offer advice regarding curricula. In that case, hell. no.

We left because FCPS is a joke on so many levels. Having a degree in education isn’t needed for homeschooling. We aren’t trying to manage thirty kids with varying needs.

Homeschoolers often out-perform their public school peers. Why would we want the mediocre product that FCPS is offering?

I came back to say that I am not homeschooling, but I found this in about 10 seconds by searching "homeschooling" on the fcps website.
If someone is not able to do the same, they should not be in charge of their child's education.

With support comes requirements. The beauty of homeschooling is it can be tailored to the individual student. You can work as quickly or slowly as needed and at the appropriate level, whether at, below or above grade level.

No way! I chose homeschooling this year and boy have my kids learned a lot! Also, there’s a ton of curriculums and resources. Elementary age has been the easiest for me. I have one middle school and four elementary. High school is trickier, so I do not plan to do that. You are your child’s best teacher. I didn’t believe that until this year. We should not have restrictions put upon us.

So many people are wanting to leave FCPS and homeschool - with no former experience in education - should the county provide some help for these parents?
