I fully support renaming schools named after Lee and Confederate heroes and certainly understand moves made relating to others such as Woodrow Wilson, but at some point this is completely batty.
To rename a school named after Lincoln because he didn't help Native Americans or because Feinstein because she allegedly opposed same-sex marriage at some point is insane. Will people oppose schools named for Obama because, at least in early campaigns, he didn't support same sex marriage?
Where does this end?
I agree it's silly, but it's silliness limited to SF itself, with its unique politics. "Where does it end?" sounds a bit unhinged; they're not coming after your kids.
This will be blunt, but you (and others) that think this is just going to magically stop are one of the reasons this continues. At some point, we need to push back and say "Lincoln, REALLY" and yet people just put their heads down instead.
It's just a school, Felicia. It's not the end of western civilization.
