Some kids might but some will not. My early ES kids do not sleep in, don’t have phones and don’t get in trouble at school. Actually my first grader doesn’t even have friends in class to get in trouble talking to because he has never met most of the kids in his class.

Honestly, I think it depends on kid. If you have a kid who needs to move around a lot, the restrictions will be harder.

I thought both of my kids would want to switch from hybrid to virtual when selections were reopened, but they were both adamant that they want to be back in school. Both middle schooler.

I teach Upper ES and they absolutely will. They will also hate that they are not with their friends. I can see some of my very small group staying home on e they see how much freedom they lost.


They aren’t with their friends at home. My 6th grader will be with three of his friends in person.



Well your 6th grader is lucky. That is not the case for all.

I have a student that asks permission to go to the bathroom all the time, even when I've told him he doesn't need to.

Oh they will for sure. And same for me. But they would not seriously choose distance learning just because they can run to the fridge whenever they want at home.

I suspect when they return to school they'll be hungry all the time. That's always hard for them when they come back from the summertime because they can eat whenever they want.
