When do teens start looking/interviewing for a summer job?

Teaching martial arts classes. DC has been a student at the school for 11 years and was hired as an assistant as soon as it was legal.

Hopefully swim team, swim lessons (job), reading, friends, a few supplementary courses, and travel.

Not yet. 16 yr old (10th grade) will apply to be staff at the sleepaway camp she's gone to for years. She'll also apply to local camps in case that doesn't pan out. August (hopefully) will be marching band.

17 yr old (senior) hopes to work at the same day camp he'd worked at pre-COVID. But, depending on where he gets in to college, there may be a summer program for incoming freshman that could take precedence over a job.

Still so much uncertainty about next summer.

Signed up to lifeguard again, full time this year since there may not be as much to do as normal

We have two. One will go to a specialty camp for six weeks and the other wants a FT job in retail. We hope to travel in mid August if it’s safe to do so.

Mine is 16 and has a job so he will add more hours during the summer. Besides that some college prep, maybe some lessons/ clinics in his sport and time to just chill and hopefully spend time with friends.

None. He’s not the proactive sort...

He will be 16 soon so he will start looking for a job.
