I think they'll have some sort of season. It would be ridiculous if they were not able to do that.

I think it will resume but maybe a bit different with restrictions and maybe only dual meets.
Good question about B meets. IMO those can be done single team only.

Our swim team went forward last summer with restrictions so I assume it will be the same this season. DS has been swimming indoors all year without an issue. Hopefully, summer leagues will at least allow smaller meets to go forward.

I think MCSL will be a no.

I think it is possible and likely. The timers really shouldn't be an issue either if wearing masks (that will be tough in heat).

It's a little early yet. The NVSL "Return To Competition Committee" will meet for this first time this coming Thursday.

I think we will know a LOT more about how summer looks in March - how's vaccine rollout? are deaths and hospitalizations way down?

I agree B meets might look a lot different, and even A meets might have 1-2 timers instead of 3, but I hope we see something that looks more like our kids remember.

I’m getting a ton of notices for summer camps so between that, year round swim with meets and all the other ongoing sports, I really hope we have a NVSL season.

I mean- we don't know what will happen in the future. If things are similar or better than the worse this past summer- I would expect every pool will open. I think any pool that doesn't figure out a way to open this summer is closing for good.
I think that a full NVSL season is allowed under Phase 3 guidelines for recreational sports. I can't imagine why it wouldn't happen.
The pools should really be lobbying the governor's office to get some distinctions in Phase 3 guidance between indoor and outdoor pools. The 10 feet restriction is particularly stupid. It should be 6 feet just like everything else.

For my neighborhood NVSL team, I'm confident we will have dual meets that are unofficial. I'm unsure about official meets for NVSL, because having three timers per lane might be too hard. I don't think the multi-team meets can happen (relay carnival/all-stars, Divisionals, Individual All-Stars).
Hopefully I'm wrong, because I'd love a full normal season!

I think so, but I think there will be restriction on B meet sizes because it will take longer to run a safe meet.

Yes, I think summer swim will resume this year. It might not be for all ages and it might not look the same as a “normal” summer swim season. HS swim teams and club swim teams have held meets indoors with precautions, and I think that should support the idea that you could hold meets outdoors with precautions this summer.

Any thoughts on whether summer league will resume this year? I know it is early but it seems like other rec sports were able to have somewhat of a season even when cases surged. By June we should be in a better position.
