You aren’t even supposed to open your window. If every person tipped even $5, they’d be making $200 an hour.

...you're saying they deliver 40 orders in an average hour?

Huh. I do Giant pickup every week. I didn't think I could tip, then I heard folks on DCUM say you can leave them cash in the trunk, so now I do. They are always thankful-- none said they couldn't take it. I don't care if it's under the table or something. I wouldn't want them to get fired over it, but I guess if that's a thing, then they are choosing to risk it.

But everyone does not tip that much. And if they do...well, good for the worker. No skin off my back...

I tip $20 for our large, weekly grocery order and ask them to split it with the shopper for our order. We’re working from home and are very fortunate right now. I leave it in the trunk. I tried tipping at Target and Whole Foods curbside, and the employees both times said they cannot accept tips.

Of course. They are taking a health risk so I can get groceries. I tip them $10 or $20, through the window.

Most explicitly say they don’t allow it, so of course not. Don’t make it awkward for the person, Op.

With restaurant delivery and Instacart it’s easy to tip. But contactless trunk pickup at stores like Target or Giant seem more complicated—do you leave a tip in the trunk? Hand it out your window?
