They are meeting right now but it's only to cover important topics, like the Langley HS borders.

Updates on actual in person education have to wait.

I am going to go slam my head into the wall now.

Why would they not discuss return to school?

Unbelievable some teachers still don’t want to return to school even after they are vaccinated.

Why does it always go right to teachers? Teachers are waiting to hear about RTS. We have no say. They are discussing the budget and boundaries. This was never a RTS meeting and Brabrand said he wouldn’t have much to present until Feb.

Apparently the FEA rep said they didn't advocate RTS until all children are vaccinated, which would be summer 2022 likely at the earliest. And no offense, but what do you mean you have no say? Surely you can call the administration, your union reps, your school board and state/federal reps (if you live in FCPS boundaries) and advocate for in-person school. I think many, many parents would like to hear that!

Wow! You guys think we have so much power. I’m another teacher who has done all of this because like a lot of people I HAVE CHILDREN. I’m not part of FEA, so I’m not writing them. But it’s wild that you all think they have so much power, but we are in a pay freeze for three years. We had a 7 year freeze in 20008. Wouldn’t these all powerful unions with no collective bargaining power have fixed that?

.
Because teachers are spineless creatures. Your silence is deafening.

My silence? I’ve written to my rep to OpenFCPS. I too have kids. What else would you like us to do? In case you haven’t noticed, there’s not a voting teacher rep on the board...and before you start on FEA—they have a membership of like 3,000 which is less than 1/4 of staff.

I can't believe school has been completely closed for what, 300? days and there is a school meeting that is not even discussing that topic!

Thanks! Just turned it on.

They are actually meeting in person!

I know there was a tentative timeline. My kids were supposed to return next week. I know k-3 got pushed.

Is there any plan or do we have to wait until the feb return to school meeting to get an update?

Even Sped preschool who was in session is now virtual. Do they have a return date?
