As the PP said, there’s a Chrysler minivan that’s a plug-in hybrid, and starting this year, every Toyota minivan (Sienna) is a hybrid.

Yes but the Sienna that is hybrid cannot be plugged in and it only comes in a V4 engine. I want something that plugs in and has power. The Pacifica is the way to go.

WTF is a “V4” engine?

They must mean a straight 4.

A 4 cylinder engine. Most cars nowadays are coming with 4 cylinders for fuel efficiency. Some people only like v6 or v8 engines. It's a big difference in driving a 4 cylinder engine vs a 6 cylinder engine. Even a 4 cylinder turbo engine drives differently than a v6. The response and acceleration of the car is way different.

I would just rent a car for them while they are with you, because it sounds like these are long visits. It will give them more independence, and when you're all going somewhere, take two cars.

Honda Pilot or Passport. Pilot has the additional row but we fit 5 comfortably in the Passport.

Whatever marginal savings you get from plugging in will be eaten up by repair costs on the Chrysler. Toyota has been doing gas/battery drivetrains for 20+ years.

We are a family of 3 but my parents visit for weeks at a time (outside of pandemic). We are not small -- e.g., my dad is 6'4" and heavy -- and we cannot all fit comfortably in either the family sedan or a crossover SUV.

I have looked at 3-row SUVs. Is there anything smaller that's comfortable for 5? I'd love a electric car or hybrid.
