are you saying your DC currently plays ECNL and they are asking for ECNL players to help out an EDP team? I would have a concern if my child ,who is on the EDP team, loses playing time to an ECNL kid. Sounds like somebody is trying to stack their team for wins....
If it is boys ECNL it isn't really that big a drop to play EDP

If that is the situation there is nothing wrong with it and it is done quite frequently.
