See I don't want to negotiate. I find those people, and the process, extremely distasteful and patently dishonest overall (not every individual is, I know). Just my opinion, but one shared by many.

For USAA and/or COSTCO members, hopefully you are for one of those. They both have car buying services. You tell them what they want, they negotiate with the dealers, and send you prices at three local dealerships for example. You go with the cheapest, walk in with the paperwork from USAA or COSTCO, paywalk out with the car. Done.

When I bought our current minivan, I did research, and was willing to pay up to X. Through USAA, my price was $3,000 less than X. I was thrilled.

Yes I used one of those tricks - put in a real email but fake phone number, and the reg code was sent by text! lol I think it was truecar, and through an employer buying program.

Cars.com. Filter for the car you want. Email dealers. I would actually say that you are not in the area and are buying for a relative, that the car will be registered in X location, and that you need an out-the-door price quote. Tell them what is critical and what is not (trim level, color, etc.).

FWIW my 80-year-old mom loves her Prius. I love that it's the trim level with a ton of safety features. But YMMV. Can your gift recipient at least help narrow down what models/features are important?

And I like Carvana, and have friends who had good experiences there, but they only sell used. (Yes, my gift recipient is difficult to please!)

Looks like we may just transfer the $$$ and have the gift recipient do all the work locally, but she is elderly, so I was trying to avoid that.

I know of dealers in Maryland that do not negotiate (our particular Subaru dealership has a zero negotiation policy) - is it a large city? Perhaps you can do a little research to figure out which dealers in that city have no negotiation policies. Isn't Saturn known for not negotiating? Maybe buy a Saturn?

I want to buy a new car for a family member in another city. I am having difficulty finding a "here's the price, all in, delivered " the way you buy something from amazon. I am not picky about model but I am seeking a lower priced car ($25K range or less). I do not want to communicate with car salesperson in any way, or give any personal data before I see the price. I want to pay cash or lease - no financing. If I found this I literally would buy the car in 5 min. It seems such a thing does not exist? Can you advise?

A lot of wants, I know. I guess I should ask for world peace and a pony too.
