I have had VEO for a while now (summer of 2019 and now have 62 matches recorded). If you can get past the price (high) of the hardware and the yearly service cost (for website and AI) then I would recommend it highly. One ability they put in last year was the ability to create highlights and download them to post anywhere. Our academy director was looking into to buying a few last year and this is the information I sent him. Some thigs may have changed in the year since I sent it, but here it is (I added some things I would like to see in the last portion of this and sent it to Veo, too). They have recently created and IOS app to handle the recording of video, but I have not tried it yet.

Pros
1. Ease of use (These are the steps)
a. Setup camera on Tripod and turn on
b. Use iphone to attach to the camera’s wireless webpage and check if the two camera’s are aligned with the field
c. click record on webpage to start recording
d. Click record again to stop recording
e. Take camera home and attach to router and camera automatically uploads to the website for processing.
2. AI automatically recognizes goals and highlights them in the app
3. Waterproof housing
4. There a different views you can set on the website, so if you want to see where your goalie is playing while the ball is on the other side of the field, you can switch views and pan over to the goalie in the video.
5. Responsive support (even though they are in Europe)
6. 1080P video (two go pro's I think)
7. Parent’s filming a match is always a dicey proposition as they may not follow the action with the camera throughout the match. This follows the ball throughout and frees the parent to just enjoy the game.
8. Have not had any issues with the heat and it was able to film without issues this past Sunday when it was 91 degrees.
9. If you are a coach or admin of the team and pay for the monthly elite service, you can download the processed video to post anywhere. (You can now create and download highlights)
Cons
1. New company and they are still working on their webpage functionality. (Works quite well now)
2. SLA for processing of video takes up to 24 hours to finish (This is because they are using AI to locate the ball frame by frame and the game files are about 4 gigs for our games.) (They have improved this and the AI is much faster now - maybe 5 hours average)
3. Base Cost is a bit high and you must pay the monthly service charge to upload videos and have website access. Although I don’t think the cost changes if you have multiple cameras and multiple teams with the elite package, so the CBA will be better in those cases for clubs.

Ideas for moving forward.

1. Analytics
a. Need to show possession, passing, and shooting statistics automatically.
b. Need to give the ability to download the whole pitch video. Like the interactive video without the interactive portion. I can see how this could be used to upload into a package, such as gameface ai (http://flixsense.com/soccer/), to get some deeper analytics. Or you could partner with them or write your own software.

Veo all the way. Its been such a huge help for dc. Easy to use, easy to download and clip videos — great product. It’s good looking too. Be prepared — once you use it you’ll have tons of people asking for free footage. Rarely do they want to help with subscriptions fees

Lay out your reasons.

Money is not an obstacle.

both are very limiting, there’s not much a good camera can’t do

LOL. Why stop there? Hire a Hollywood film production crew to record video and add audio & video effects.

It’s a team. Not individual.

Money is no object, have everyone hire their own.

You came off a bit arrogant so folks are just breaking your balls. Relax

Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to pull of a Loudoun Soccer here. My apologies.

You’re dense. A team will pitch in to purchase a system that will benefit all.

Presumably the goal here is video intended for scouting, coaching, and/or personal use.

There are really three parts to having useful video, collecting it (with sufficient quality), clipping or indexing it (so ppl don't have to watch the whole game), and serving it (storing and presenting).

VEO is a camera system for automatic (unattended, or guided) filming of games. Solves parts 1 and 3, but does no indexing or clipping to my knowledge.

HUDL is a video indexing service in which you load your video, index it to identify players, events, or whatever. It allows players to easily compile their video clips, coaches to assemble video sequences for instruction, etc. Solves parts 2 and 3, but you are on your own for video collection. Has a pretty good following for football and baseball, but is losing ground for soccer to the other services out there.

TRACE is a system that attempts to combine an automatic filming system with a bot that automatically indexes the video to present players with all their video "moments" (touches really). Solves parts 1,2,3. Pretty good network of scouts like it. A great idea that suffers from a number of issues that can make it a frustrating solution.

INSTAT is an automatic stat collection system that analyzes uploaded video, automatically indexes it, and does detailed analysis on player performance. Solves parts 2 and 3. Easily the most comprehensive and accurate indexing service. Has a large following in pro soccer, and growing rapidly into elite youth soccer area.

If money is no obstacle, hire a professional to collect your video for best quality, load it to INSTAT, and get a subscription there. None of these systems can match what a professional video guy can do for you.

If you want a more automated solution, I would recommend VEO+HUDL (more control over clips), or better VEO+INSTAT which will automatically put your player on the radar to scouts if he/she is talented.
