Sadly, no. It was announced LCPS will be administering their own vaccines with LCPS nurses. Which doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Not about the nurses - about the ability to plan and execute this efficiently.

Wow. If it's the moderna vaccine, it's my understanding there has to be specialized training in how to handle it. The vaccine has to be stored at sub zero temperatures in order to be viable. Good luck LCPS.

All staff who will be giving the vaccine have been provided specialized training specific to giving this vaccine, so they know the protocols. It will be given by a combination of school nursing staff and volunteer medical students, from what I understand.

I read a news article that the distribution hotline was overwhelmed within 10 minutes on Monday. There is a lot of interest in the vaccine, which is a good thing.

A lot of princpals were circulating the link for INOVA staff vaccines and teachers just signed up and went anyway. INOVA was too nice to turn them away but they were NOT supposed to be there. Teachers were doing backflips to justify it.

Why are you discouraging people from getting vaccinated? The vaccine isn't scarce. There are appointment available. Why wouldn't they go get one?

Stop trying to justify your actions. Would you want your picture on the front page of WaPo saying you knowingly cut the line? I doubt it.

You don’t want to live in Pennsylvania. The nursing homes aren’t vaccinated yet. Teachers are waaay down the list.

Because those were for 1a priority staff and it said so. I’m not taking a vaccine from a healthcare worker when right now I am still working at home. It isn’t right to go get those when we are in 1b and our schools said they had a plan for us. Some of my colleagues signed up too, I didn’t think it was right. It clearly said they were for inova staff

You must be a stern task mistress. I am glad I didn’t have you as my third grade teacher. I just find that phrase — “NOT supposed to” — usually belongs to overbearing, judgey types. Maybe I am wrong and you are a very warm, compassionate individual, but I wouldn’t bet money on it.

No that's Pfizer. Moderna is stored in a regular fridge/freezer.

My bad, you're correct it's Pfizer.

Its infuriating to hear of my FCPS counterparts just making appointments all over the place.

Uggghhhh.
