We got the Mission masks for our teens (18,15,13). They are worn for multiple sports, soccer, basketball, track, with little complaints. They are adjustable and my kids do seem to like those. We also have the Under Armour masks, but had complaints that it was just "suffocating" to wear. Make sure to hand wash the masks and hang dry, we haven't had any issue with shrinkage.

We bought a Mission mask for our 11 year old and it’s pretty small. Aside from size, I would not recommend the mask based on overall quality. The straps are all different lengths and he says it’s not comfortable. Despite our dissatisfaction in the mask, the company was responsive and graciously refunded our order cost.

NOT paper, gets wet and very uncomfortable. Several cloth masks, so they can change if one gets to wet/sweaty.

The Happy Masks are expensive but totally breathable (my soccer and hockey player uses regularly) and it has a built in filter.

Find one that is comfortable hanging below the nose and around the chin just covering the mouth, that's how we see every kid with them.

My kids are very happy with Under Armour masks. They are comfortable, breath well when playing and wash well. No regrets on spending $30.

We have tried several and these are differences I have observed:

Adidas - wraps tight around the face; straps are not adjustable

Puma - wraps tight around the face; straps are adjustable

Under Armour - only one with some structure to it; has a semi-ridgid (but flexible) nose piece and builds out away from the mouth and nose (creates a small pocket of air between the mask and the face); straps not adjustable

You just need to try a bunch and see what he likes best. My son likes the simple cloth ones from old navy and DD likes the sports ones from Athleta.

Adidas sports masks have worked for my son.
