Definitely better than having 4-5 and being poor, but at least I can ascribe the latter to lack of iq or wanting benefits...

Busy-ness is a disease like overachieving. Daughters of narcissistic mothers. I am like this but thankfully my husband put the brakes on number 3. We are very happy with 2 and the pets and life gives you enough without compulsively creating more work.

If only things were so simple! DH came from a family of over-achievers and believes “outsourcing” raising your children causes real harm. He has deliberately “daddy-tracked” because he believes that he needs to spend real time with his children.

If only things were so simple! DH came from a family of over-achievers and believes “outsourcing” raising your children causes real harm. He has deliberately “daddy-tracked” because he believes that he needs to spend real time with his children.

+100. Lots are fine with minimal time. They may be fun and loud and happy and busy and assume that vibe is sufficient. For some kids it is. I assume it’s genetic/self-selection.

It’s not weird, especially if you complain constantly about how busy and hectic and exhausted you are. Most of my friends who have three constantly complain. I just want to be like, uh, what did you think having three kids was going to be like, a walk in the park?

The ones I know just throw money at all problems; voila, problem solved (or handled).

Status, trendy, grew up with a large family, have money to pay for nannies. Most aren't concerned about spending a lot of 1-1 time with each kid and have the kids to play with each other and care for one another.

I don't know. The one woman I know with three was crazed and disorganized with two and the third was not an accident.

I can understand wanting 2 no matter what; I can understand an oops baby (though I honestly think people just aren’t being careful). But choosing to have 3? Am I just a low energy person that I find it hard to pay as much attention to my only as I would like if I work a regular 9-5?
