Also, IEPs, ELL and homeless still have priority, so if you’re not in one of those categories, then it’s lottery for the rest of the leftover slots.

I think “most” is an overstatement. For 1st there will be 66 slots. I don’t know the exact number for the grade but I’m guessing at least 120 kids. So that’s half.
Yes- hybrid and half days.

Each grade is different, I assume based on willingness of teachers to return (without naming names, one upper grade has 1 teacher, one has 4 and 1 has 0 so using co/partner teachers).

I should add that teachers who were going back vs staying virtual were identified for all grades, so it’s clear there was coordination with teachers already.

The fact that even teachers aren’t aware of reopening plans makes me really nervous. How is that possible if school is supposedly reopening in 3 weeks?

High school teacher. Principal said she submitted plans. She didn’t share what they were.

This should be directed to the principal of the school. However, assume most kids are not going to be back in school in February. DCPS is prioritizing the students furthest from opportunity and students with IEPs. Unless your child qualifies under one of these categories, assume you don't have a spot. That way you wont be mad when you find out you don't.

I am still confused as to what exactly is opening in Feb for third term. Are indivudal schools making their own plans and selection of which students will come bacK? Has anyone heard from their individual schools on plans?
